NHS Dumfries and Galloway Health Board based in the South West region of Scotland, on the border of England, have started a recruitment strategy to hopefully attract healthcare professionals to come Work Live and Play in our beautiful region of Dumfries and Galloway.
Victoria McDade, who has recently been appointed as the Board’s Workforce and Sustainability Manager, is heading up the recruitment strategy to help showcase the unique selling points of living and working within Health and Social Care in Dumfries and Galloway.
She said of the role, “I was overwhelmed by the friendliness of not just the staff but the community I have engaged with so far in Dumfries and Galloway. There is a real drive and passion to work together to attract health professionals into roles where there are national shortages right across the UK.
“Our campaign to increase audience figures on our primary social media platform has been well received and supported by our local hoteliers who are also passionate about seeing their NHS thrive.
“We are delighted that Thornbank House Guesthouse based in Stranraer, one of the most westerly and scenically beautiful areas of South West Scotland, has stepped up to support us.
“With a quieter pace of life but outdoor activities on the door step to suit all age ranges, Stranraer is host to some of fantastic GP practices and our Community Hospital that also provides a 20 bed Acute Medicine Service.”
