Dumfries & Galloway Health & Social Care

Return to Practice Student Nursing

Organisations from across the Health and Social Care Partnership are working together with Glasgow Caledonian University to offer nurses the opportunity to return to practice.

Return to practice programmes have historically been offered in NHS settings, however, Dumfries and Galloway Health & Social Care Partnership recognises than not all nurses started or ended their career in the NHS and want to return to be trained in the NHS. Collectively we have come up with a new initiative supported by the clinical education team in the NHS to offer placements and end employment not just in our NHS settings but in care home setting in the hope to attract back much needed nurses to our independent sector organisations.

You may have already had a taste of working again on a temporary basis to support COVID 19 efforts and your temporary registration has now lapsed or your personal circumstances have now changed and you wish to rejoin the nursing and midwifery register.

If so this programme could be for you.
