Who are we all?

ISSU18 have professionals qualified in mental health and substance misuse, as well as a dedicated child and adolescent psychiatrist. We believe in keeping our knowledge base and skills as up to date as possible.

ISSU18 Appointments

For your ISSU 18 appointments, we will travel to where the young person is most comfortable.

What services do we offer?

ISSU18 offers a range of services in a variety of settings throughout Dumfries and Galloway.

Please note:

If either the young person or their parent/ carer have mental health problems in addition to a substance misuse problem in the family, a separate referral to CAMHS is not necessary.

It is helpful when other services can share information and work together, but contact will only be with the young person’s consent.

The only exception would be if something shared with us caused concern about you or someone else’s safety.

How to make a referral?

ISSU18 will accept referrals from anyone who knows the child or young person

If you are 12 years you may want to Self Refer yourself. Or you can ask a parents /carers / professionals to make a referral for you, but you will need to give your permission for this. If you are under 12 years old then a parent/carer / professional will need to complete this with you.

It is important to tell the person referring you as much as you can so you can get the help you need. For more information read our ISSU18 & CAMHS Information Leaflet

Following allocation to an ISSU18 worker, contact will be made with the young person and the referrer.
