Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services
Welcome to our service.
CAMHS is the name for the NHS specialist services that assess and treats children and young people up to their 18th birthday who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health which is having a significant impact on their day-to-day life.

If we think we might be the best service to help you, then; we will offer you a first appointment. We might then sign post you to other services, offer brief help or provide specialist help depending on the mental health difficulties you are experiencing.
CAMHS Appointments
For your CAMHS appointments, you might come to:
- One of our centre's, The Willows, Children, Young People and Family Centre or The Oak Tree Family Centre.
- Or you might go to your GPs surgery
- Or you might feel more comfortable going somewhere in your community
- Or meeting online through, NHS Near Me video calling
When you come into the building, if you go to the reception desk and sign in. Then you can take a seat in the waiting area. We have a brand new mural painted alongside children, young people and families. A member of our CAMHS team will come and meet you.

CAMHS is made up of several teams who have different skills to meet the needs of young people. Each team will have staff from different professional backgrounds and they have specific skills.
Throughout your journey you might meet and speak with:
- Admin
- Nursing
- Support Mental Health Workers
- Consultant Psychiatrists
- Participation Lead
- Child & Adolescent Applied Psychologist
- Consultant Clinical Psychologist
- Team Leaders
- Senior Management
Child & Adolescent Clinical Psychology
Child & Adolescent Clinical Psychology work closely with CAMHS and School Nurses to decide what services is the best one suited to your needs.
We work with children and young people to understand their thoughts, feelings, motivations and behaviour, to support them and their families learn skills to help manage these challenges.
We work with people using talking therapy when these difficulties are significantly impacting their life (home, school, friends).
